I have a '14 JGC and two kids. One is 9 weeks old, one 2.5 years.
the back seat/front seat distance isn't' that that far (I guess that would be like saying back seat leg room) so in order to keep the front seats able to slide far enough back for drive/passenger to be comfortable I have our baby in a rear facing Chicco Keyfit 30. It fits well in the center position. I then have our older son front facing in a Radian (passenger's side at the moment). There would be no problem putting another Radian on the driver's side, it would fit just fine as it is narrow enough that the center position Chicco doesn't encroach on the space needed at all.
I'm a huge fan of the Radian seats. I bought the one I use for my old Pathfinder. My wife has a '11 Honda Odyssey so space/fit isn't an issue there (that car is designed around people who care about car seats). She had a Britax Boulevard in there, and liked the Radian so much better we put the Britax away and bought her a Radian to use. They are nice seats, that have the bonus of the most narrow install space needed out there.
Before going forward facing we used the Radians rear facing, worked great that way too.
I have to say, my wife's van is a WHOLE lot better for hauling the kids around. BUT that said, the Jeep can work fine too.
