Re: Are both side mirrors supposed to auto dim?
You can tell if you have auto dimming outside mirrors if notice the perimeter of the mirror (about 1/4 inch I think) is brighter than the rest of the mirror. You can see that with the power off in broad daylight. When I was shopping for my Jeep, I noticed the fully loaded Durango didn't have it on both mirrors, but the Overlands did. I'm not sure how much it really saves the manufacturer, especially if they're charging you for it anyway.
That being said it baffles me on the kind of features they decide not to offer. I finally found a car that offers auto up and down windows for both front windows, which is tricky to find. They usually either only go auto down, or auto up and down for driver only. Is it really that difficult to add auto up and down for all four windows?
That and why did they get rid of the remote window down feature on 2012s? Its just controlled by softare. I doubt they're saving any money by not including it.
