Are the wk2's capable? I think so

I have a stock 2013 wk2 and took a little off-roading today. I did bulldog canyon in Phoenix az. I only bumped into one other person in a purpose built rig. Yeah he was able to go a bit faster than I. But I still made it with one scrape and so e Arizona pin stripping.

I was quite impressed with the soccer mom SUV. There were a couple places that was difficult but in general it was easy. The recent rain had a couple place really rutted out. So much I actually teetered on the driver front and passenger rear.

Felt odd driving to the trail with the front valance off but only because the bloody reservoir is visible.

Can't wait to get a lift and out 32's on her. Then she will be able to wheel much better, articulation aside.

You are correct. The AWD program is pretty sophisticated. For what it is, it is impressive. The real rock climbers would want solid axles and lockers, but there is a Jeep for that. The WK2 seems to be one of the best multi-purpose vehicles out there: capable towing, cargo hauling, snow driving, mild to moderate off-roading, town and country driving. And it's Mall Rated!

Ah ok. I don't have the cajones to try bulldog canyon lol. I did join a group that went to Cinders OHV though, went down the bowl and that was intimidating the first time

It really is pretty easy most of the way. There is one descent that I scraped but I suspect a better line might of changed that.

The last descent coming from salt river side was the limit do the jeep in stock form. I spent probably 20 min looking at it and picking the line. (This is the bit by the like shack at the end)

I had my kids get out as I needed concentration. Didn't need to have them fight while I was heading down. This is where I was teetering.
