Re: Are you unhappy with your engine choice?

While I said I have no regrets with my V6, the only thought that creeps into my mind is that I should have went the SRT route. I love this Jeep and know I would not have used the 5.7L Hemi.

Re: Are you unhappy with your engine choice?

Happy with the v8 power and absolutely disappointed in the mpg. My 05 f150 with 37's and 6 inch lift gets about the same mileage. Horrible, absolutely horrible. I still couldn't step down to the v6 cause I love the extra power.

I have the V6 also and love it. It was sluggish, but I read a forum on here somewhere about the grade of fuel people used and someone said they put in 89 "because it added a little more go" to their wife's Jeep. So I tried this out myself was using 87, now use 89 with my Pentastar and it did help with the sluggishness a little bit. Also I have noticed a slight increase in mpg.

So many folks here don't have the CDR available to them (US folks) since until next year, it's an export-only option. But yes, it should have been on the poll just for completeness.

Re: Are you unhappy with your engine choice?

So far the Hemi leads, which is surprising since I expected a LOT more people here had the V6.

I think I'll order a Hemi badge!

Re: Are you unhappy with your engine choice?

100% satisfied with the V6 for the type of driving I do. I wanted good MPG and the ability to get through snow while on the road. I was not looking for off road or towing capability and did not want to pay the freight for those abilities.

When I retire and have the time and am not burning up the road a trail rated badge might be in order...

Re: Are you unhappy with your engine choice?

I'm happy with my V-6, but I do occasionally have daydreams of having an SRT.

Love the hemi. Only way id take the V6 is if it was FI.

Re: Are you unhappy with your engine choice?

Have the hemi. I'm happy with my choice, just wish it had more power to get going. I'm going to chalk that up to awful transmission programming/gearing and power "management" with the ecu.

Happily counting the days until I can order the diesel + 8spd.
