My recent 2009 GC Laredo will be number 4 for me.

1995 Wrangler
1999 Wrangler
2000 Cherokee sport
now the 2009 Grand Cherokee.

Going on 16 years now of owning Jeep vehicles and plan for many more to come.

1987, first year for the Wrangler Think it was AMC who actually owned them before that. got some cool info of the wiki page and tons of other info on the net. Didnt know myself that Ford had designed the original military 9 slot grille and then Jeep changed it to 7 sometime later around the AMC era hmmm

Re: As of today - 12 New Jeeps - $400,000

I have purchased all of the following 9 Jeeps as new vehicles:

1995 Grand Cherokee Laredo blackberry
1997 Grand Cherokee Limited Red
2002 Liberty Limited White
2002 Liberty Limited Black
2005 Liberty Renegade Khaki
2005 Liberty Limited CRD Khaki
2008 Liberty Limited White
2008 Wrangler Unlimited X Blue
2011 Grand Cherokee Overland White

The first 2 were with my ex-wife as co-owner, and the rest have been with my current wife as co-owner. I also purchased a new 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport in there as well, so the total would be 10 Chrysler corp. vehicles.

Thanks. I knew they bought it from AMC, but did not know when. The Wrangler was basically a wider track CJ5 as the government felt the CJ5 flopped on its side too easily. CJ5 was similar to military Jeep and it seemed to work for them. I remember going for a ride among the dunes at Provincetown as a kid in a Willy's Jeep. There were Kaiser Jeeps too.

I had an 87 Cherokee Laredo. I think that was during the short period where Jeep was owned by Renault.

That's a brand I would not like to see back in the US!
