Auto close rain sensing wipers

Sitting here at work and was just wondering if anyone knows if the rain sensing wipers close the windows and sunroof automatically upon detection of rain on MY15 JGC? Thanks in advance.

I know that's a feature on BMW's and some other makes. Just made me start wondering and it was bugging me because I won't be home to try it myself for another 13 hours.

Nope! It doesn't close the sun roof or the door windows!

Hopefully I didn't make you get your Jeep wet for no reason. Or maybe I gave you a reason to shine it up?

Nah, bright and sun shiny here! Just took a spray bottle and gave the ol' jeep a few squirts until the wipers came on. Now that you mention it though, she is looking a little dirty...

Re: Auto close rain sensing wipers

It's disabled by default on VW's in the USA due to liability I think, dealers will not enabled it.
I had to enable mine on the VW with a With a Ross-Tech VAGCOM adapter.

Once enabled it has to be turned on through the MFI (EVIC).
And the Wiper Control Arm must be a Rain Sense Position.

It also let's you open or close all windows through the Key-FOB. Which also needed to be enabled through VAGCOM.

I'll bet you the Jeep could do it. But getting it to do so is more difficult than some other cars.

Former VW nut here and I'm waiting delivery of my eco diesel and I've wondered, where is the "vag com" for Jeeps? These things have so many modules and options there has to be some things that could be activated or deactivated. It looks like this sort of thing doesn't exist for Jeep though?

Are you looking for the OBD II port? It's under the steering wheel. Not sure if that's analagous to the VAG-COM though. Thats not something I've heard of before.

The FCA equivalent is Wi-Tech but it's not nearly as accessible or affordable as VAG-COM. I believe it's a subscription in the five figures.

Yeah, I think we were just lucky with Ross-Tech on VW's that they "cracked" (i.e. mapped it all out) and made it reasonably cheap. With a lot of community help to help maintain mapping things out.

I'll bet there is tons of stuff that you could do on a Jeep. It just hasn't been done. You can only monitor a few things and clear codes with generic ODBII dongles.

There is diablo stuff for tuning, but I think it's fairly limited compared to VAG-COM.
