Auto Dim Rear View Mirror

Bought 2011 loredo did not come with Auto dim Mirror. Dealership stated that one can not be placed in vehicle because it is not compatible and may cause more issues. Does anyone know if this statement is true?

From my understanding it is a self contained unit. Give power and all the computer parts are within the mirror and not in the main computer of vehicle.

Re: Auto Dim Rear View Mirror

I think it is complex as it not only dims the inside rearview mirrors but both side mirrors.
Aftermarket might be a choice.

The dealer probably meant a factory mirror. Yes, aftermarket is the way to go and all you need to do is access some power. There are auto dimming mirrors that also have a built-in LCD display for a rear camera if you decide to add one of those too and they're quite affordable. I am not recommending this one, but here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/PLCM103-Rearvi...318769&sr=1-13
