Oh, yeah... that was the time when I found out about that. Thank you for pointing this out. In my case, since I have the latest model, it's the right button under the handle. Previous models had it on the outside.

Re: Auto Lock not a Feature?

The only thing that bothers me a bit is that I can't lock (or at least unlock) all doors (or at least the particular door) when grabbing a rear door handle.

That's something I got used to on my Lincoln and it's a bit frustrating at times to pull on the rear door handle before realizing it ain't gonna open..

I love that button.

I think i can deal with out that.

On another note, What would be good is using the p00per and not use your hands to wipe. Maybe some auto wiper should be nice. Oh wait i think those already exist.

This is why I love this forum....After a year of ownership I never knew about the lock button on liftgate.

Really it's right beside handle.

I had two salesmen tell me that they discontinued the passive key in the 2014 for the lift unless you got at least a Overland. I had to show them both how wrong they were.

I just wish they had kept the hinged rear glass.

To an extent I agree, but after driving a JK for so long the hatch is so much nicer than the gate on the JK.

My 2005 Mercedes had this feature as does my 2009 Mercedes. Don't know why jeep doesn't have it.

Hah...along the same lines of appreciating the forum, I didn't even know I actually had the "flipper glass" until it was mentioned here a couple years ago after I bought my MY2012 Summit.

Agreed, after once hitting the rear hatch button after getting groceries, having a gallon of milk fall out and bust in my garage, I used the flipper glass a few times a week... Soooo gonna miss this feature...

Sad as it is, it crossed my mind to look into adding a flipper glass to the 2015. Simplest way (but still not even close to being simple) would be to retrofit a 2012 gate to the 2015 but then you not only have tail light issues / changes but even interior panel & cargo cover changes...

Yeah probably not worth it but with enough money anything is possible.

I am thinking this could be upgraded.

I haven't done much research on how the touch handles work but you could probably get replacement handles for the front doors, install them in the rear and connect the touch sensors in parallel to the front ones....

Would have to set the system to open all doors on the first touch though otherwise grabbing the rear driver side handle would actually only unlock the front driver door.

Can't tell you how many times I left my sunroof open only to find out the next morning. Automatically closing the sunroof would certainly be a nice option and also adding to the key fob.
