Auto start question

I live in tucson and we got up to 108 degrees yesterday. I realize how valuable the auto start feature is to start the car cooling before I get to it. I assume there is a distance limitation on using this. Does anyone know how far away you can be and still get it to work? I figure I can probably do it on the uconnect app also, but with no distance limitation. I just have not tried it yet

Re: Auto start question

More correct from the owners manual..............

REMOTE STARTING SYSTEM — IF EQUIPPED
This system uses the Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) transmitter to start the engine conveniently
from outside the vehicle while still
maintaining security. The system has a range of
approximately 300 ft (91 m).

More correct is always better!

Re: Auto start question

I use the UConnect app on my cell phone a lot. In the winter, I start my car from my office to warm it up before going home or in the morning before going in. I also use it to make sure my car is locked at night as we have had a rash of kids rifling through vehicles stealing things.

With a brand new battery in the key fob. Also line of sight and depends where the receiver is on the vehicle. On my Wrangler it is on the left side. Nice to have on hot or cold days.

That would be why the word approximately is there...

I've started mine with a year plus old battery with clear line of sight well over 300 feet several times though

Please tell me which specific app you used. I've tried 3 different ones from Google's app store and can't get any to load/work. Those Mopar/Uconnect apps are the most frustrating apps I've ever tried to use.

TIA

Dan

Yep, it didn't work. The only choices it shows are Slacker, Pandora, and iHeart.

Funny thing is, I remember having an app on this same phone(Android, LG G2) a few months ago and it worked then???? I think it was a trial and it ran out.

Uh ya. You have a 13 so it isn't going to work. Furthermore you have to have a subscription for the remote start portion
