The blacked-out thing baffles me. (Must be my age. I think those baseball caps with the flat bills are goofy-looking too.)

Re: Back in a Jeep ('15 Grand Cherokee High Altitude)

Already had mine in service. I have been driving for 37 years, 20,000 miles a year and have never had a flat. What did I wake up to this morning... flat tire. Nail in it.

Re: Back in a Jeep ('15 Grand Cherokee High Altitude)

I purchased the tire and rim warranty - $295.00 - 5 years, 100,000 miles. I am still debating on the Maxcare 5 yr/100,000 mile bumper to bumper or the Lifetime bumper to bumper. I have til 9/20.

Mopar MaxCare Extended Service Contract...available discounted from a number of online Chrysler/Mopar dealers if your own dealer will not offer it to you for a reasonable, discounted price. Typical cost for the "lifetime" contract with $100 deducible is about $2300 these days. Many dealer finance folks try really hard to get $3500 or more for that same contract.

Don't do any kind of third party service contract.

Re: Back in a Jeep ('15 Grand Cherokee High Altitude)

Dealer gave me a price on the Maxcare of $2250.00 or Lifetime $3325.00 with $100.00 deductible. I have never purchased an extended warranty but with all the 'stuff' on this vehicle I think it would be a wise decision.

Make sure you familiarize yourself with that Tire/Rim Warranty. It limits you to 4 replacements of the rims and the tires over the life of the policy AND a max of $1500/year. I just got my tire and rim replaced on a '15 overland. Came out to around $850.

So if for some reason you mess up two tires and two rims, youre going to have to pay some cost out of pocket to replace them both AND only have two more replacements available for the entire life of the policy.

Honestly its a great plan as not many people mess up their rims or tires. It pays for itself the first time you use it. Just be familiar with the limitations of it. Always good to have a little extra information.
