Dealer just said the battery tests good, so no replacement. 3 weeks sitting in moderate cold is just too long, I guess.

Sorry for all these posts, but I thought I would share thst the dealer found an unusual drain on the battery -- my OBDII scanner was pulling current. Next time I leave the car in the cold for more than a few days, I will unplug it!

So, is this ODBII scanner something you have plugged into the port then? I'm curious because I have a Challenger that has had a no start condition due to discharged battery twice. I have a TAZER that I was leaving plugged in to the OBD port and am suspicious it was the cause. I am now leaving it unplugged to see if it is the issue.

Re: Battery life

Yes, I had it plugged in to the OBD port. I had never before let the car sit for more than 3 or 4 days, but left it in our garage for 3 weeks while we took a winter vacation. The temps while we were gone ranged from mid-teens to low 40's.

Re: Battery life

I have found that having the battery discharge to a low voltage (<10V) and sitting for a long period of time without charging also shortens the life. Best to keep on a float charger if the vehicle is being stored for more than a few weeks.
