Re: Beat sonic Antenna vs. visualgarage antennas

Never heard about the Beat Sonic, I've had zero issues with the Shark.

I know it's not a review for the GC ones, but here's a good side by side of the two:

Re: Beat sonic Antenna vs. visualgarage antennas

I am a VG sharkfin user and have not complaints. Prior to using the Shark fin I was using a Shorty antenna for the Mini Cooper ( actually still have it on my other jeep)

The shorty has slightly better reception than the shark fin. and when I say slightly better I mean it will keep the signal longer than the shark fin.

Both work fine for AM stations which seem more spotty around here.

That's my endorsement for the Sharkfin.

Maybe you should take a shot on trying the Beat sonic and report back.

the reason why the VG is so popular is because it is tried and tested.

he biggest issue with the OEM antenna base is that is is kinda wide so whatever functional shark fin you go with it will have to be able to cover the antenna base.

Nothing against the Sharkfin, but VG couldn't get the color to match the paint on my GC. They tried twice and I gave up on the back and forth emails, shipping etc. Good looking piece though. I finally bought a stubby from Amazon, and am very happy with the performance and looks, especially for $25.

Good luck with your decision.

What color were you trying to match, if you don't mind me asking? I'm considering it for my new Eco Green KL TH.

Re: Beat sonic Antenna vs. visualgarage antennas

Mine is Bright White. The first one they sent me had a blue tint in it, I sent it back, they painted a new one, sent it to me, and it had a blue tint in it as well. I sent it back for a refund.

I am not slamming VG at all. They tried really hard to give me a matching Antenna, just couldn't do it. They really do have great customer service and the Shark Fin is sharp.

Re: Beat sonic Antenna vs. visualgarage antennas

For anyone else that has installed one: Do you have the 8.4" AN (with the Nav and access)? If you do, have you tried to use the Access App for iPhone with the antenna? Are there any issues with reception of the Uconnect Access and Sirius? Thanks in advance!
