Berserk Rear Parking Sensor Alarm
I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland. Yesterday I pressed the black lock button on the rear door after unlocking all four doors. I then started the engine. The audio alarm for the rear parking sensors would not turn off even after I stopped the Jeep and restarted the engine several times. I drove to a vacant part of a large parking lot, exited the Jeep and locked and unlocked the doors several times. Then I restarted the engine. The audio alarm kept blaring. There were no messages in any instrument panel display. The radio was almost muted. I called Jeep Roadside Assistance; the service tech suggested that I drive to my dealer. Fifteen minutes later I was the dealer. A salesman tried to help. He pressed the parking sensor switch on the instrument panel to no avail. I then locked and unlocked the car several times. Mirabile dictu! The alarm ceased. All seemed to be back to normal with one exception. All the presets on SiriusXM were lost. The UConnect version is xx.xx.10. The Jeep was built in April.
