Re: Best Financing Rates / Options

What about 0%?

I got 0% a month ago from Chrysler but it was limited to 36 months. Someone in another thread said you can go even longer now.

jeep.com still says 36 months.

If they ever deliver my now-two-weeks-in-final-inspection Overland I'll find out and let you know.

2.04 % BofA in NY. That was couple of months ago.

One thing I would say, get a loan from bank unless you can get a killer deal via dealership. It is fairly easy and fast process.

With my 2 previous cars I got screwed by the dealer. It is not that the loan is bad but quite often they use it as a leverage to get you to buy stuff like extended warranty or rust protection.

This time around: "here is the check, give me the keys and I'm out of here". Took about 15 minutes. I also found good dealership and I would buy from them again.

Re: Best Financing Rates / Options

I used a pre-approved draft that I received from PenFed. 1.74% for 72 months. I received the draft back in July though, so the rates may have increased. I never even applied for the PenFed draft, it was just a pre-approved offer that came in the mail at a good time. The dealership said they could beat the PenFed rate by a little bit, but I didn't feel like running my credit and waiting longer in the dealership for $3 a month.

Re: Best Financing Rates / Options

I just stopped by my dealership to get the latest rates on the GC. They said these should be valid through the middle of next week (~10/3)

36 months - 0.0%
48 months - 0.9%
60 months - 1.9%
72 months - 3.9%

Sounds like it might be a good idea to still have a second offer from a bank just in case the dealer tries to give you a hard time (or to use as a negotiating chip), but I'm just not sure if I'll have the time to chase that down this week. Knowing these numbers gave me peace of mind. I'll definitely be financing <= 60 months.

Re: Best Financing Rates / Options

I got 1.49% with Wells Fargo back in March for 60 months. I feel like I'm making money with these ridiculous interest rates.

I got 1.9 from the dealership for 60 month last week. They beat my credit union which was 2.89%. I told them to beat 2% which they did without issue. That was in CA, maybe it matters.

You'll need to check with Penfed about the status of your draft. They do expire after a certain date. Current rate I saw today in an email was 1.99%.
