Re: Best new Sport Utility Vehicle over $40K

Boy, if it won the over $40k category I would hate to see how it compares to under $40k. With rebates & discounts I paid about $36k for my Limited, so imagine how other SUVs would compare to an Overland at street prices compares.

Highlight for spoiler: NOTHING COMES CLOSE.

Well, I can shed some light on that. When Kia was fully taken over and Hyundai started to push the quality issues about 5 years ago I bought one of those new Kia Sedona mini vans. It was fantastic, much nicer than the previous sienna and it never had a single issue until I wrecked it with 70K miles on it. ;-(

The fellow who runs our yacht club leased a loaded Hyundai Sonata to replace his lexus. The Hyundai with the turbo is VERY impressive and looks better than the Lexus...handles better and is more fun to drive.
Hyundai/Kia is not the company they once were. They are for real, stealing a ton of business from Toyota and the others. Consider how they built that Genesis right out of the gate. Amazing car for their 1st try and don't forget the Equus. They are planning a supercar and if they go after Jeep's market I bet they'd win.
They are VERY motivated, perhaps more than any car company I've seen in many years.
