Re: Best ski rack and rail combo

I got the whispbar, I used to work in a bike shop and IMO the whispbar are a lot better product. As soon as I get my jeep I will snap some pics

I use the mopar cross bars with a thule universal flat top rack. Works great. Everything feels very solid and there is no rattle or substantial increase in wind noise.

thule ski racks are great, I like it better than yakima because they are burlier, and have a big push lock button easy to use with gloves.

I have the pull top one, pretty much like the one above, but you can actually pull it to the side of the car, makes a little easier to load/unload!

I use a cargo box for long trips, only use the racks going to the local ski hill 16mi from home! Your skis will take a beat in a rack driving the highway!

Can you use these with the pano-roof?

I have the Mopar kit and a Thule Ski/board carrier with the pano roof and it does not interfere with it. I highly doubt any of them would.

I presently use a Yakima rack for my Monoski's. It stays attached to my Grand Cherokee. It's very strong, robust and easy to use; I've had it about six years and have had
no problems with it. I use to use the Thule Wing shape box but got tired of having it painted every time I got a new SUV. I've been skiing for more than 35 years and I've never had a bad ski rack or box. I've used both Thule and Yakima. Good luck on your ski rack choice.

yes, but in my case if I put the bar all the way to the front and use the "vent" pano it will whistle at about 50mph and faster... I didn't try to put the bar back a little since I figure I wouldn't be using the pano during the winter anyway
