Re: Best way to remove dealer sticker

When I lived in the upper midwest (up to 1996), dealers used to punch a metal logo on the back. The last 3 vehicles we purchased here in Oregon from 3 different dealers had no dealer stickers or emblems -- just the license plate frames which I removed once the plates arrive from the DMV.

I removed mine by using a blow dryer or heat gun if you have one. Get it warm so the adhesive become soft and it peeled right off. Then used Goo Gone and took what was on the car off.

You should have told them to keep their car and asked for a new one. Screw that. No dealer prep/no decals or I walk.

I had instructed the dealer to not put there emblem or license bracket on my vehicle; but once I saw the emblem I took it and put it where I wanted it because I thought it made a great contrast or match with the vehicle. Still might remove the Las Vegas just have to make up my mind. Once I put it where I wanted it the dealer thought it looked great.
How dare they
I told my dealer the same thing but they also ignored me
So on taking delivery i just snapped off heir number plate sourand and broke it up in front of them.
They were not impressed
The salesman said they could have re used it
I said i told you not o put in on in the first place
You have interfered with my property without my permission

The dealer didn't put anything on my vehicle. I did! They were surprised I wanted the orange Sahara emblem. They gave it to me and I attached it where I wanted it.
I've had a couple of people ask me was Sahara the model, so I just pointed to the Summit emblem. I'm thinking of removing the Summit emblem and putting the Sahara emblem in it's place. I just think the orange Sahara looks good on the Deep Auburn Pearl. The dealer attached no front plates or license bracket on my vehicle per my orders. I've been replacing emblems on my vehicles for at least 15 years. Had a black 350 Z. Changed the emblem from 350 Z to Fair Lady Z, which was a dealer in Japan. Had a Chevy SSR, black, took off all of the Chevy bow ties and put silver SS and Red R emblems in there place. So no, no one put any emblems or stickers or brackets on my vehicle. Looking into getting a trail rated badge made that says Desert Rated or Sand Rated or maybe even Mnt Rated in orange; may be able to have it done on a CC machine. It would be placed where the Trail Rated badge is located.

Fine, just don't call it Dealer License Plate Frame.

It's the OEM Front License plate Bracket or Mount that your refusing delivery on.

The License Plate Frame with the Logo on it is harmless.

Now if the dealer added the mount AND the frame, I can understand that, but that is confusing to call that just a deal license frame.

Some states require a front license plate. There is a field I saw in the build sheets that specifies front plate installation. Fortunately not my state. If I tell them as part of the deal that they won't drill, adhere, afix, or install ANYTHING....that's what I expect. I don't even want them washing my ride. Unload it, park it, don't touch it, and call me for delivery. My money, my rules.

I got a full tank of fuel but my DEF was at 25%. I was the 3rd JG person to take delivery and we weren't aware to ask for the DEF top off at that time. I was just elated to take delivery of an unmolested vehicle and not find any uncorrectable defects or issues.

This. I also had them remove those hideous plate frames with their name on it.

That might not work out so well in US states that require a front plate, which is more than half of them
