Do an exhaust setup then come tell us its not louder.

Re: Biggest thing I miss about the Hemi

How about adding a cold air intake? Improvement in the way the engine sounds seems to be the most noteworthy improvement thay make. I was wanting to buy one to improve the economy on out V6 a bit but, I am not seeing much if any gain in economy from the results I have read. Maybe it's because the engine does sound better with a CAI and people put their foot in it more than before the intake to hear the sound (a V6 version) of the beautiful noise you are after?

Re: Biggest thing I miss about the Hemi

There's a little box on the intake for the V6 that exists to silence the intake. Adding a CAI will at least improve that a little bit.

Here's a video some guy did with a few versions.

You'll never really make a V6 sound like a V8, but a super 44 and an intake will at least louden it up some.

I too was impressed with how quiet the Hemi is under calm driving situations. You get a nice little burble on start up, and then it goes away and lets you drive to work in peace. There just a little grunting and such to let you know there's a beast under the hood. But when you punch it, it gets loud quick. I will say, Jeep got the exhaust right for a luxury truck with a V8, loud when you want it, quiet when you don't.

The V6 doesn't have any GRR on start up either. It sounds like a sewing machine! I want it to sound like the Ferrari on start up, with a VRoom and then to settle into a nice smooth idle. I know, quit dreaming.....

Re: Biggest thing I miss about the Hemi

I kind of enjoy not having a loud exhaust/engine sound. After driving a loud work truck all day long and my truck at home with dual flowmasters, it is nice to ride is something quiet for a change.

Re: Biggest thing I miss about the Hemi

I wouldn't want it to be louder. If it was louder it would be just noise, its still not going to have that hemi rumble.
