Bluetooth Notifications Really Loud and Other Stuff

Hello,

I have an iPhone 5 and I love using it with the car via bluetooth. However, whenever I get a text message, the car screams at me saying I have a new message no matter where the volume is on the music. Is there a way to make it lower because it scares the out of me sometimes while driving. Also, after I took the car to be serviced about a month or so ago, I was able to read emails from the car and now it does not do that anymore. Is there a way to enable it to read emails? Also I cannot respond to text messages through the car anymore. Is there a fix for all of this stuff.

Thanks.

Volume for Bluetooth is generally a separate setting than for your music...check your owners manual for the particular sound system you have.

I checked it but it did not say anything about lowering the volume for the notifications. Luckily I had a few hours to kill today and I discovered how to do it. When the notification is playing, you need to lower the volume as it is saying the notification. For example, when the car starts telling you that you have a new text message, you need to adjust the volume on it while it is playing. Only took me a few months to figure this out

Just wanted to let you know that is also how you adjust the navigation volume levels. You can only do it while it's verbally speaking.

Is "Show notifications" turned on under settings/bluetooth/uconnect?

I don't believe the iphone 5 has the capability to respond to texts thru uconnect it can just receive.

I used to be able to when I first got the car. I was only able to do 18 pre defined commands. I also have the base radio with satelite radio.
