Brake controller

Just purchased a new summit with the eco3.0, I am trying to figure out if it has a brake controller built in that I need to calibrate.

Re: Brake controller

No. You need to have a brake controller fitted.

Re: Brake controller

Snuke is correct, there is no integrated brake controller from the factory. Mopar reportedly has one that can be installed for MY14 vehicles, but nobody seems to have posted that they were able to acquire it that I can remember. Most folks use a third party product...I happen to use a Tekonshia P3 and really like it. Installation can be plug-and-play in many cases...I bought a pre-terminated cable that plugs directly into the Jeep socket under the dash near the emergency brake pedal and then into the back of my controller. Others, who want to install the controller more hidden, such as in the center console behind the flip-up door on the storage compartment just use the OEM Jeep pigtail and the pigtail that comes with the controller to make their own wiring harness that is long enough to do the job.

@Jim_in_PA Jim_in_PA

Jim where did you mount yours?

I wanted to put it down low, but it looks like my panel below the steering wheel is a leg air bag (seriously wtf) and I doubt having it mounted to that would be a good idea. I was looking at maybe doing it below the steering wheel on the telescoping neck.

Re: Brake controller

Mine is lower and to the left so I can see the display easily through the wheel. But I have a MY12.

after re-reading the P3 manual 3 times it dawned on me it does not have to be perfectly level, just strait.

Ooopppsss.

All good in the hood now.

I went for far left in between gas release and hood release.
