Re: Brake pad dust

Amazed to hear that the pads on my JGC are ceramic. That's great. No visible dust on my wheels either.

Re: Brake pad dust

I put EBC Greenstuff pads on my last Hemi and the brake dust was excessive. No problems with the OEM pads.

The trade off for better stopping ability is brake dust due to a different pad compound. Since North American roads have much lower speed limits than in Europe, there is less need for higher performance pads.

My BMW 740i had bad dust until I changed them out for Akebono ceramic pads. When I go to the track however, I switch them back. It goes without saying that I wash the car once I get back home after a fun track day to get rid of the buildup.

Re: Brake pad dust

Most metallic pads do create noticible dusting. Wagner ThermoQuiet metallic pads minimize dusting.
