Re: Brillilant Black, Mineral Grey or Maximum Steel?

Totally subjective, but the BB only looks good once in a while. In less than ideal lighting it looks very flat, dull and lifeless. It's also a lot of work to keep it looking good at all.

The grey and steel are nicer. You might want to have a look at the green and silver. The Green is close to back in some lighting conditions, but has more "sparkle" and life. The silver is probably the safest color.

In the end....it's all about your tastes and no one can debate that. Some people even like the brown!

Re: Brillilant Black, Mineral Grey or Maximum Steel?

Grey is my second choice, I have a grey car now and before that I had dark green, then black. I think I miss black. More work but when it is all shined up nothing beats it. : )

Honestly as long as it is a Jeep you win no matter what color...just saying.

Re: Brillilant Black, Mineral Grey or Maximum Steel?

I am a fan of the lighter colors (except white) on the WKII because it shows off all the lines better.

Re: Brillilant Black, Mineral Grey or Maximum Steel?

Black paint is a part time job in keeping it swirl free. Even a washed black Jeep will not look good if loaded with swirls. I know because I have a black g35 and you will never win.

If you go with black definitely go with a nano-technology protection. If you don't know what that is Google opti-coat or cquartz. They offer the best protection against swirls for black paint and help to keep the car looking clean. I am currently using it in my black car and it has helped a lot.

i've owned black cars for quite awhile and i definitely know the time it takes - i have DA polisher from PC and Griot with 5 and 6" LC pads of all kinds - I love using Menzena IP and FPII, Klasse Twins and I have the whole collection of Zaino too. i'm a regular on autopia and autogeek forums

Re: Brillilant Black, Mineral Grey or Maximum Steel?

I always buy black cars for myself. Black on black is what I always tell the dealer I want and when I went there they had that color in the model I wanted so I bought it. Now my wife has a mineral gray honda odyssey and it is beautiful. After I got my jeep I went back the next day to pick up a part and there was a mineral gray there in the same options only with power lift gate and heated steering wheel and I kind of wish I got that one. I didn't research the jeep, went there to buy a durango but they were all out of the model I wanted so it was an impulse buy, something I never do. When I saw the jeep though I was like DAMN and had to have it. Now that I have the black I am not sure about it. It has crystal flakes in it that make it look gray in the light and I hate that but at night its beautiful. So although I would have rather had mineral gray I am happy with the black mostly but if I had to choose again mineral gray would be the choice.
