Re: Bugs, gremlins, problems...laredo vs overland?

It might make sense to offer the WK2 Overland as it came originally, without QL, with QL as an option.

Re: Bugs, gremlins, problems...laredo vs overland?

I've had my Overland since New Year's Eve and have registered 12,000 trouble-free miles. Not a single squeak or rattle or complaint, it's been a stellar vehicle, and I like it better every day. I also own two BMWs (and a Rubicon) but the JGC is more practical than all of them most of the time. The Beemers are awesome on smooth asphalt but tiresome and brittle on poorly maintained Northeast roads. I've shelled out too many bucks on bent rims, one of many things I don't worry about with the sturdy JGC, which seems invincible in inclement weather. The adjustable ride height makes a huge difference in heavy rains and flash floods, let me tell you. As someone commented earlier, reliability surveys tend to be skewed by the minority of complainers. More of us who have benefited from the well-thought out design are less likely to add to the dialogue because we're not motivated when nothing is going wrong. Those of us who have had trouble-free service need to add our voice to the dialogue.

I also have ~18k on my new 2011 Overland V6 and have make a couple of trips from WA to FL and WA to CA with out a hitch.... This is my 3rd Jeep, the other two had 280K and 334K... This is by far the best GC yet!!!

Re: Bugs, gremlins, problems...laredo vs overland?

My Summit is hands down the best vehicle I ever owned. My only "gremlin" thus far is within the 730 RHR media center. Every couple of weeks it seems to forget the "home" address in the NAV. I also think (not 100%) it forgot a couple save addresses as well.

My RHR seems to be doing that too, as well as forgetting about my cell phone.

Yes, please do. I would like to hear what happened in the flash flood. My neighborhood was underwater in 1996.

Well, nothing happened, that's the point. But we've had downpours that would have been threatening to an ordinary car and downright dangerous to most sports cars. I had to replace the engine in my Z4 once when the rain came down so fast and furious it flooded the roads and water entered the engine through the tailpipe. They found cigarette butts inside the motor.

Re: Bugs, gremlins, problems...laredo vs overland?

First off you are probably going to find a lot of support on this site for the Overland b/c there are not too many Laredo owners on this board.

On that note the Limited and Overland were never a consideration for me based on the price. For me it was between the Laredo and the X. I thought for sure I was going with the X and it was actually the one I test drove, but when I was shown a Laredo it had everything I wanted. The only things I miss right now are heated seats, but other than that I am happy. I actually liked the way the 17 inch wheels and tires looked as opposed to the 18s. I thought the radio on the X was cool, but I had heard about the issues people were having and I thought the regular radio was good enough for me. Mine has Uconnect, is a 4X4, and has the chrome exhaust, but other than that it is base. It has almost 2700 miles on it and so far no issues other than 1 dead key fob, knock on wood.

I would say get the model you want but the more things you add the more points of failure you create.
