Bull Bar Question

Whats up guys.. New member first time post.. This might become my hangout spot now

Anyways, I had a question I cant seem to9 find the answer to. I recently bought a White WK2 Overland, now i would like to put a bull bar on the front. I researched some prices and brands but I cant seem to find the difference in a $150 Bull Bar and a $400 one.. Im a bit stuck.. I am also debating weather to put a black one or chrome one on a white jeep. Or not put one at all? hmm.. Oh and if I do end up buying it, where would you recommend buying it from? I appreciate any input you guys can give me. Cheers!

Re: Bull Bar Question

As this is an international website, it is a good idea to let people know where you are. Also helpful to let people know what you have looked at already.

There are a few existing bull bar threads on the site already, including info on colour coding if that is something you would consider.

Do you have the tech package? If so, does the guard block the sensors and camera?

No tech package but I am fairly certain there are a few guys on here with it that have no issue...

Re: Bull Bar Question

I know bull bars are very popular. I put one on my last rig, a Honda. I haven't put one on my JGC (yet - I may, I may not).

This is one data point that I'd like to share: my cousin who does a LOT of 4X4 off roading and is very experienced says these things are mostly cosmetic, and when in an accident even a mild fender-bender the bull bar collapses into the front end and actually causes more damage. Of course this depends on strength and quality, and type.

Where I live I have seen Highway Patrol SUVs (Ford Expeditions) with bumper bars to push vehicles off the road. These look VERY strong and I may install one of these instead of the more cosmetic types of bull bars.

Some thoughts I wanted to share here. Like I said, I know bull bars are very popular. I never had an accident with my Honda and its bull bar, but I can see how more damage can happen with it as opposed to without it.

Totally agree but tbh, living in ny, it has saved my bumper/quarter panels more times than I can count and if God forbid the accident is of a higher speed, the car will be damaged regardless.

I'm in ny too, so I could really use a bull bar as well due to all the crazy parallel parkers. Just can't confirm if the bar will block the sensors.

Also have a buddy who had a bull bar on his trailblazer. Got into an accident and the other car was messed up pretty bad. The trailblazer didn't have that much damage. I can only imagine how worse it would be if there was no bar.

That's why I got it.. I've literally watched people try to park and take paint off their car with my bars..

Ps, here is a pick of where it sits.. You should be good if you got one or both.

They sold it through a place in ny and I found it on eBay. I will try to find the contact.
