Bumper trashed

Anyone else notice an alarmingly large amount of chips/divots on their bumper? Mostly the plastic parts. I presume these are from rocks and road debris which is unavoidable obviously, but man this happened pretty early in the life of the vehicle.

I wouldn't call it trashed, but the '14 definitely seems more susceptible to road rash or the rocks are getting sharper around here. Wonder if anyone makes a self curing plastic putty that could be used to fill them before touching up.

The ACC sensor looks like it could use a clear plastic cover like the old Jag headlights...

Re: Bumper trashed

I have only had my JGC about 5 weeks, and have only 90 miles on it, not enough time to have noticed any rock chips/dings yet. But I did have just about my entire JGC covered in paint protection film, hopefully it will prevent most of the small dings/dents/chips from small rocks and such.

I believe that since the gov't has required paint manufacturers to switch to making a water based paint that having a weak paint could be a side effect? Not totally sure though...

What doesn't help either is the fact Chrysler (as well as other auto manufacturers) srpay on the paint REAL thin these days...relying too much on the clear coat.

Re: Bumper trashed

Have just over 10,000km with Xpel Ultimate paint protection film on the front end and no visible marks at all.

Re: Bumper trashed

My 13 has an alarmingly large amount of damage on the front bumper but its all self inflicted, LOL! It spends an alarmingly large amount of time off road. If I fixed the bumper every time it got a boo boo I would go broke, or need to buy stock in bumpers R us!
