That being said, I too would look for an Overland. If you really plan on keeping it long term, and you're getting the Maxcare, you'll be happier years from now that you got the best one you could afford.
Could just be what dealers ordered locally.

For fun.

I put in the search criteria on cars.com

Limitled under $35K under 50K miles.

About 4000 popped up. This is country wide.

Added LED to option filter and it dropped to 300
Adding filters like this is not always reliable but the pictures matched fairly well when I added LED.

Put in Overland, same criteria. And it was about 500.

I'm sure there are plenty more overlands at above $35K

Of course there are even fewer Overlands below $30K

Then I lowered price of Overland to $30K and there were 61.
Some were even 2015 MY.

I picked up a 2011 Laredo because I actually prefer the real gauges in the dash over the screen along with the shifter. So far I have added the Oem 20" wheels & tires , dual exhaust, hitch, painted fender trim & side skirts (which the limited doesn't have anyway), and I'm in the process of doing the 2016 front bumper conversion with LED headlights. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome and my payments are $250/mo, that's the best part! I'm still on the hunt for some nice leather seats

The more I look the more I realize I prefer the 2011-2013 styling than the 2014+. The only thing that sucks is the fact that the 2014+ transmission is such an improvement. I have my eye on a couple 2013 over lands with the hemi ( yes I know different from my original post)

With that said, if a <2014 Laredo with hemi comes up I may snatch that up to keep payments as low as possible

You'll want to be looking specifically for the Laredo X for MY11-13 in that case...that was the only Laredo with the Hemi available as an option. Laredo X later became the base Limited starting with MY14. There may or may not be many with the Hemi, however.

Re: Buy a Laredo & upgrade or buy Limited

You're crazy.

Better Transmission, Better Lights, Better Radio, Better Dash, Better MPG, Better Performance, Better Safety Features (if you opt for them), Better ACC, list goes on and on.

A V6 with 8 Speed has better performance specs than the 6 Speed Hemi !!

Re: Buy a Laredo & upgrade or buy Limited

Hi, did you ever find the car you were looking for? I agree with you that I prefer the 2011-2013 models to the newer ones. I prefer the simplicity of the older models. I currently have a 2012 Laredo with leather seats/backup camera/power liftgate but have been thinking about trading it in for a 2013 limited with Hemi/Lux Package. Only thing is my Laredo has only 54k miles on it and I barely drive it since I drove to and from train station everyday. On one hand I can keep the car forever...on the other hand I can have a limited (which I would prefer) to keep forever. I can keep about the same monthly payments but would add two years to my current loan.

No I haven't. Still debating between the laredo and limited. Waiting for the VW dieselgate settlement (now settled) just need to process paperwork. I would have pulled the trigger (on something) but my wife found out she'll be out of a job come January 1st so right now I'm in budget mode. My VW has partial warranty coverage (fuel pump) until 120k miles and it is now paid off so I'm just going to sit on it until things improve. I should hit 120k in 8 months. It has a major service interval at 140k miles (timing belt) so if anything that is as long as I'll keep it.

As far as my decision it comes down to price difference. I'm seeing a $3k price difference between the laredo and limited. On one hand that would buy me another set of wheels and leather interior, but on the other hand I wouldn't have another "project" on my hand if I go with the limited. My decision (as of right now) either an Altitude or a Limited.

If I were you I'd keep your laredo. I'm assuming you've had it since new so I'd rather keep a car I know vs a car I don't know.

Re: Buy a Laredo & upgrade or buy Limited

Actually I bought the laredo used at the end of 2013 at 26k miles. I'm going under the assumption that I'm going to keep whatever car I get forever so why not have the limited with V8? Thing is we found a limited that has all the options plus it's in max steel which I am finding is a very hard combination to find (limited + lux + max steel).
