Smile Buyer beware!!

Greetings all!

I just got to rant and rave!!

I am currently waiting for a GC Summit build for my wife's new car. We are excited!. We looked at everything on the market in this size for about 3 months. We are glad the research and the looking is over. I don't think we could have stood another salesperson or dealership. Some of these were good but most were what gives car sales a bad name. I also found that a good number of the salespeople I met had very little knowledge on any of their products and I was educating them.

The real frustrating thing that I found was picking packages in vehicles from all manufacturers as things are not always what they seem. Jeep was by far the best and the only issue I could find was that when "building" a jeep online had a couple of issues as follows:
1. Choosing "Dark Sienna" interior on a Summit on the choosing color tabs shows it costing zero dollars. Out of the corner of my eye, on the lower left vehicle total, I saw the price change by almost 500 bucks. It does show it as costing almost 500 bucks on the interior option page later on. None of the websites that price vehicles show that Dark Sienna cost anything. I bought it anyhow because my wife liked the color but it irks me that you have to "datamine" everything.

2. It also took me quite awhile to find the difference between Quadra Trak vs Quadra drive and what vehicles in came on. Would have liked to get quadra -drive but did not want the hemi or the diesel engines.

Ford was horrible on this issue- If you jump to a "Sport" model from a limited you get the 3.6 ecoboost but you lose HID lights, park assist etc.. Just try and find that in their literature. You also lose heated rear seats if you opt for rear captain's chairs. No mention of this anywhere. I wrote FORD and got no response in anyway. I am going to send them a picture of our new GC with a thanks for helping me make my decision. :-)

In closing I found Jeep to be the most "honest" I would just offer caution to anyone buying/ordering a new vehicle to look at every line item and compare that to the other models. That fancier trim and price sometimes does not include all the expected goodies!!

Thanks I feel better.

Re: Buyer beware!!

Yeah. It's not a bad idea to review your choices here to confirm you are getting what you think you are getting and suggest possible oversights.

Re: Buyer beware!!

We drove Summit's with all three regular engines: 3.0L & 3.6L V6's & the 5.7L Hemi

Two things keep us from getting the Summit: you can't get the Light Frost Beige interior (the only one my wife likes) and you couldn't get the Off Road Adventure II package (I wanted).

But I missed out on the Adaptive Bi-xenon HID lights with washers that I would have liked to have for mountain roads.

Congrats on your selection!!
