Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

We were just at the Denver autoshow this afternoon - I can confirm that the Black Summit was locked. It looked gorgeous!

I agree about Centennial Jeep - they tried the same crap with me - no affiliate pricing, and a $2500 market adjustment .

Sorry to hear about your troubles - We had a great experience at Pro Chrysler.
They were actually so knowledgable and professional on the phone that we drove from south metro to see the RB Summit that was coming in (still in transit).
They were great, and we purchased the same day. We have been back to have accessories installed, and they were still very good to work with.
Maybe it is the person you are dealing with? We are dealing with the Fleet/Commercial sales manager, and the internet sales guy was the one there on the weekend that we actually purchased.

Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

Go Chrysler could not get any summits either.. but at least they were honest about time frames to me and what they could or could not do.. what did you order?

Hopefully I will have a good experience with pro tomorrow when I go in to finalize everything and do the trade in. To their credit they were one of the only dealerships that was willing to do the friends and family discount on a summit they actually had. I'm sure they could sell it for a lot more if they so pleased. I just hate being mislead or lied to.. They have put a damper on my new car buying experience. One would think that if you are a dealership and selling one of the more expensive rare cars on your lot that some care would go into the way it is handled and displayed at the auto show. Or call the customer that was purchasing the vehicle to let them know it had arrived once it came in and be able to return a simple phone call.

who is the fleet commercial sales manager? perhaps I will ask for him since the guy I was dealing with will conveniently not be in tomorrow.

Just got back from the car show. Your car was behind the tent/pillar and it was locked! It looks great, just a lot of finger prints!

Your vehicle should never have been at the show in the first place since you just bought it. I worked at BMW in sales for a year and that would have never of happened and shouldn't even if it was a Kia.

Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

hopefully dealer can make good for you. nothing like a detail and a few free services and discount on parts calms me down.
CO Jeep perhaphs a great service, but first thing the sales guy told me was "market adjustment " on summit.
I will say that i was treated fairly at johnson jeep in brighton.
good luck!

Nice pic sir! What's that in the window? It was behind the tent/pillar and still drew a crowd when I was there too. Glad to see it's still covered in finger prints she said that it was being wiped down every half hr or so to give you an idea of how many people were looking at it.

Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

Got the jeep.. Big thanks to Jeep Garage and all the helpful people on this forum!! There was pretty much no choice but pro chrysler to get a black summit at preferred pricing or I would have gone somewhere else.

General sales manager lied again and said the car was completely re detailed before I came in.. and was in new car condition.. Still had scuff marks and dust all inside from the show. The dealership has a major communication problem..Waited all day monday to go pick it up after the car show.. tried calling.. emailing and cell phone with no return call.. Apparently everything was down at the dealership monday.. They call me at 530 and say come get the jeep now and you can come back to do the paperwork tomorrow.. Decided to wail till tuesday to do things right. Just as I was getting ready to leave to pick up the car tuesday 11am the finance lady calls me to say that I can't come in till 230.. at this point I had already asked my friend to take time out of his day to drive my trade back if we did not come to an agreement and help look over the new Jeep for any potential damage. I told her I was already coming in and she started to get a little bit of an attitude.. Then I asked her if she would print out the rules for affiliate pricing and she danced around that never answering me if she would or not. (they must teach a class to all their employees on how to answer a question with out answering it) of course this is because they wanted to try and charge the dealer fees.. which eventually got taken off.. I was assigned a random sales guy I had never talked to but I wish I did in the first place..

The sales guy Warren was awesome.. funny thing is he didn't get credit for the sale!! He actually went back and detailed the car with the detail guys. The original sales guy was rumored to have quit, been fired, working at another car lot or on family leave depending on who you talked to. Another guy I talked to on the phone for 5 minutes, couldn't show up for the actual sale, didnt even call me when the car came in or make sure to tell the car show people it was sold got credit for the sale and not Warren. I'm going to try and put a good word in for warren cause he deserves it, he made my new car buying experience somewhat better. The icing on the cake.. After I signed the papers the general sales manager comes up shakes my hand and say "Thanks for your business, remember all 10s on the survey!" at this point all I can do is laugh to myself! Glad this whole experience is over and I can finally enjoy this awesome vehicle. No complaints about the Jeep it gets a 10!

Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

CONGRATULATION! I wish you many enjoyable trouble free miles and never ever come back to any dealer, other than to get another vehicle. Good for you, my friend on the fees, i got charged 400 for dealer doc fees and TL 75 as well, but my sales guy was good so I didn't fret knowingly paying couple hundred more ( all i hope it goes to my sales guy, not a dealer).

Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

FYI you can get that refunded to you if you call chrysler affiliates. Dealer will receive an audit on the deal and you will get it back.

Re: Buying a Summit experience.. typical salesman BS

thanks, but as i stated, if it would be an a-hole sales guy, i would not hesitate. But i felt if i would be bargaining with a retired veteran for couple of hundred dollars when i am buy a 50k truck... well i don't deserve that people like him put himself in jeopardy to protect my freedom. So I was perfectly fine paying the price and hoping that at least some of those "padding the bottom line" would find the way to his pocket.

/thread jack
TL on another hand, i paid for 3 years on saturday, called on monday, just inquaring if it is possible to get affiliation number over the phone, since i was informed they send out/process paper work once a week on friday. The lady on the phone was ready to bite my head off. I know i was considering going for a lifetime membership, since i do support responsible land use, trail maintanance etc. But frankly after my interaction with that lady on the phone i would be damn if i give them one more cent after this 3 year membership expires.
/back to regular programming
