Bye Bye Jeep

So, within the next 2-3 days, my Jeep will be gone. In its place will be a 2009 Corvette, found a BEAUTIFUL example that's loaded out with low miles for a steal. Dealership is giving me $34k for my Jeep (2011 Overland V8 4x4, 31k miles, no ACC), which I think is a very fair offer.

Should be driving out to pick it up halfway between MD and NC in the next day or two.

Overall, it's been a great vehicle, just time to move on. In the year I've had it, it took me on a few awesome trips, but the reality is, at my age it's not something I need, and I'd rather have a 2 seat sports car! Plus I've still got my old AWD SUV to use going up to the ski slopes, to work on yucky days, etc.

At the end of the day, I still feel like it's the best SUV on the market right now without spending $100k. I've enjoyed every minute of the last year of ownership of it, and I'm going to miss it when it's gone. But you have to live a little while you're young too!

Re: Bye Bye Jeep

At your age, you don't need a Vette either. Just kidding -- have fun.

Nice... I drove the first C06 few yrs ago and it was luxurious. Loved the HUD and other features. Enjoy the new ride in good health!

I second this! Drove a friend's mid 2000's Z06 vette and had a blast. I can't blame you for the trade.

Re: Bye Bye Jeep

Some pretty crappy pictures from last night when I picked it up.

It's just an amazing machine really. I'm going to miss having a luxury ride, but I'm enjoying the heck out of having a sports car already. As part of this whole deal, I also got my old SUV back on the road, and it's been a heck of a lot of fun driving it again too. It's not anywhere near as nice inside as the Jeep (either of them actually), but the fun to drive factor is way higher.

Since I kept my old AWD SUV, I can still go skiing and such as well, ordered a roof rack for it the other night. I'm going to miss having that nice luxurious ride of the Jeep at some point, but I couldn't be happier right now.

Plans for the C6 are to black out the Halo with some gloss black vinyl, and black wheels. Will probably plastidip & glossifier the stockers to see how I like it, and possibly go with black ZR1 replicas at some point down the road.
