C&D picks the Hemi powered JGC

Cool article i came across from Car and Driver today I didn't realize the Hemi engine option jumped up to $3195. I'm pretty sure it was a $2195 option when i got my JGC last April 2013.

If they're jacking the Hemi price up it's only to drive more people towards buying the diesel. I've heard that their sales numbers have been lower than expected.

Sounds about right. The promo I got in the mail last week was $1500 off diesel and $500 off others.

While those who like diesel seem pretty passionate about them, most folks don't see a need for the perceived (or real) advantages. I don't know anyone looking for a new vehicle who is considering one, Jeep or otherwise.

Unless you are really concerned about MPG, or low end torque will be more than a talking point for your daily driver, diesels will have to sell without a premium price. That means lower the price, raise the price of other options, or a combination of the two.

If we get rid of ethanol, gas prices will drop enough to outweigh the MPG advantage and we can send all the diesels to Europe or our friends down under.

Ha! Good luck with THAT!!

I love my diesel. Too bad most people don't know they exist and the rest never give them a chance.

But seriously, would you REALLY expect C&D to pick anything but the Hemi? SHOCKER.
