Re: Cable TV show about JNAP

And they said everyone of them is SOLD.
And Bill, yes I realize they are aligned at the factory, but based on the complaints on this forum you might think otherwise. It is interesting they spent so much time on it in the video. I think the transportation folks are to blame for many of the alignment issues here. None the less, it was an impressive video.

Yours and tens of thousands of others are waiting just to be produced in the body shop. We won't even get started with paint and trim, chassis, and final.

For some reason, these TV shows view the assembly process as boring (despite being where all the action is), and the body shop robots as amazing, so that's what you see.

Both are as equally important as the other. Parts need a body to mount to, and a body won't move without parts.

I'm surprised that glass installation wasn't covered as that's mostly done by robots. The exception being the door glass installation, that is done by humans.

With these TV shows and even internet shows, the less humans the better.
I think a full hour show on the build process would be cool to see more of it...it seemed like they had less then 20 mins of the program related to Jeep before they moved on to something else.

Yea, I get pissed everytime they do one of these tours, bc they never even bother coming back here to my line.. Which happens to be the very first one.. They just pick up where the car starts to look like a car, as if nobody cares how it even got to that point... *sigh* I'll get my 15 seconds of fame one day.

You've had more than 15 seconds of fame here! That counts for something.

I would have loved to see some of the electronics being put in - dashboard, wire routing, more about chassis and engine, but instead its all robots. Grrrr. Wish they had made a one-hour maybe in conjunction with Jeep itself. I'd pay for that. :-)

Here here! Despite all the issues I have had with my 14, I have nothing but the utmost respect and thanks for all you folks do to give us such a great driving experience! We are pulling for you and for Jeep every day we get in our trucks.

The heck? They didn't even show your line? Ugh. Maybe the TV shows have it out for us.

You WANT to see that back breaking torture? I'll pass. That's one job I never want to do again. Wiring harnesses.

Dude.. Watchin those programs, you'd think Underbody Mainline didnt exist, and the build process starts at Framer 2. Everytime I watch these JNAP specials, they seem to leave us lowly humans out of the equation. It's all about the robots over here, and the "marriage" over there.. I did see a quick shot of somebody on a tugger over in pick-n-pack.. I told my girl, "see that white dude taking a nap, that's what Marlon does! " Idk, apparently they plan on phasing folk like me out, with more robots. Maybe that's why we don't get any airtime.
