Re: California Edition

I agree...It does look awesome.

And since I've already embarrassed myself with profuse geekiness...might as well go all-in....

Is it just me or is there something about the lines of the JGC (especially the white ones) that just make you wanna run your hand lightly down her side from bumper to bumper?

Its weird....almost makes me wanna stroke it (the vehicle) like a horse.

Even weirder is that its the white ones that generate that feeling the most in me...and I dont even want a white one. Not being prejudicial or anything. And the Graphite looks wet and sexy too.

I know, i know, i know....its just a machine. And I know that once I have one (or two) in my garage, I will be less romanticized about it.

But its odd that it has such an effect....at least on me.

Re: California Edition

I like the Cali, but I'd have to put the polished wheels on it. I don't like the painted wheels at all.ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1446865622.277755.jpg

I NEVER considered getting a white vehicle (and I probably wouldn't do it again because it's kind of a hassle to keep it clean) but the moment I saw the pics of the California press release of the white Summit, I really loved it!

Re: California Edition

Yeah, I understand.

On the other extreme, all of my vehicles for the past 20 yrs have been black. Not cuz Im trying to pretend to be some stoic bad-ass. I just like the color.. Its....somber. Anyhow, they look awesome...for about the first 15 minutes after I wash them. But, call me a glutton for punishment...it still the color I prefer in vehicles. All of my vehicles prior to my "black phase" were grey and they hid dirt and grime very well. Thats why I am tempted by the Graphite exteriors that look awesome. Im about 60/40.

As hard as it is to keep the black vehicles clean. I cannot even imagine what its like to try to keep the Stormtrooper-White rides looking showroom.

But....thats trickle-down economics for ya...we keep the car washes in business. Or...we really show our love and go hands-on for an up-close and personal deep cleaning. Mmmmm.....

I just fondly remember the day my wife came in and told me: "Have you noticed that my Corvette (black) is dirtier than your Wrangler (black)?"

Incensed, I exclaimed: "That aint happn'n!" and immediately went to work resolving the problem.

Funny thing is...she though she was gonna get me to spend a day washing her car.

Actually...I spent the day finding and enlarging a mud hole near our town.

And then...she could no longer complain that her vehicle was dirtier than mine.

Alas....the next weekend was spent cleaning BOTH vehicles.

No good deed goes unpunished.

This is my first black vehicle and you are right about that its clean the day it goes through the car wash and that's it lol

I have had a few different colors and surprisingly I didn't find white as hard to keep clean as the black for some reason. driving through mud or something sure its dirty but after rain or normal daily driving I didn't feel the need to wash the white as much as the black.

Now silver that is a good one to have if you don't like to wash your car. Half the time I could never tell the difference after I washed my silver lol.

Those white summits look good though, maybe white the next time around will see.

Yeah I agree, id like to have the matching mirrors and door handles from the platinum but not the rest. the polished wheels are nice on the summit also because there is no coating on them just polished metal. so minor scraps are an easy fix, some fine grit sand paper and polishing compound and its fixed no painting or recoating needed.

I think you don't want to be doing that because I believe those wheels are clear coated.

No they aren't, not the standard 2014+ summit ones they are just polished. I had one torn up on a curb and took it to a wheel shop and stood there and watched the whole time while the guy sanded and polished it back to new, doesn't take long. Some wheels do have coatings these don't they are polished alloy only. I have cleaned up a few scuffs myself on them.
