Calling all WK2 Drivers for help!

My dealer located a Overland like the one I ordered. Except! It has the 430n and black on black interior. My order had the new 730n RHR and frost interior, But still in "D STATUS"... I can have the other Overland this weekend or do I wait for my order to be completed? PLEASE HELP!

Re: Calling all WK2 Drivers for help!

I would say, be patient and get what you want. I have an overland with black interior and the 430N and love it, but my tastes are not yours. This is a big decision that is not easily reversed. I promise it will be worth it!

Re: Calling all WK2 Drivers for help!

Is there much difference between the 430N & the 730N if there is what is it, and then there are those other letters RHR - RER what is all this?

BTW, I have the black interior and love it.

The key maybe in not having any regrets which ever way you go and of course the choice is ultimately yours.

Unless you don't already own a car just wait. Does anyone have patience anymore?

I could wait, I do own a car now (06 Commander) But my dealer is offering me 16 grand trade in for my commander now if I stay under 68,000 miles.. I'm at 67,820 now.. So yes I have the patience but there is a lot of money at stake now..

Nope. Have you seen how people drive lately?

Re: Calling all WK2 Drivers for help!

The one I originally ordered had the light frost interior and the 430N, but the one I ended up buying had the black interior and the 730N.

I don't regret my decision. Had the one I ordered not sat in Detroit for a month before shipping, I'm quite sure I'd be pleased with it too.

I don't really know that there's that much difference on the nav; the only feature that really is going to make a big difference is the voice control (or maybe the split screen nav/audio and dead reckoning, but those would be a very distant second and third). As for the interior, that's personal preference.

Don't go for it if you think you'll be thinking "man, I should have waited" in a couple months.

How much $$ are you talking about? You ordered the frost so that must be your first choice (?). How much is that worth to you? Black/black and black/frost have a very differnet look. One is more dark and macho the other is more classic. Me? I would wait for the one you want unless the $$ savings wins out.

As far as the 430N vs the 730N, I think people are making WAY too much of this. Any of them will do the basic funtions; PLay music, tell you where to go, leet you load your own music... This is a car (OK SUV) not an entertament system.

Re: Calling all WK2 Drivers for help!

Personally, I'd wait. I purposely waited to order mine until February for two reasons:

1.) Figured I'd give our friends at the plant a little more practice putting them together lol

2.) I'd rather pick up my brandy dandy new truck in 70 degree sunny weather, as opposed to pulling it off the dealer lot for it's "virgin run", through mud, sand, salt, snow, in 15 degree weather.

(Can you tell I'm a bit anal?)

Re: Calling all WK2 Drivers for help!

I had read somewhere that the iphone has a problem with the 430n, any truth to this rumor?

Apple used a nonstandard Bluetooth implementation on the iPhone 4. It did not work reliably with the 430n or the 730n RER. The software update for the RER came out this week, and apparently the one for the 430n just launched.
