Canvasback questions

I am getting ready to buy a canvasback for my new overland. Mostly for that guy in my avatar. Questions:
1. Does it go in a out easily or is it more of a leave it in all the time cover ? For example if I take my dog down a muddy trail is it easy to pull out for the next trip to the grocery store?
2. Are the side flaps helpful and worth the $20?

Thanks.

Re: Canvasback questions

Canvasback was one of my best canvas ever I had. Got 2 big dogs and went out hiking most of times... And still looks like new! I would definitely buy one for my wk2.

One thing I dislike about canvasback.. The velro was too strong and pulled out some jeep's carpet which I had to "comb" them...

Also, it was so easy to sweep the dirt off.

Re: Canvasback questions

We've had a Canvasback in our Q5 for 4 years and it still looks great.
I've never taken it us just vacuum and wipe down in place. The side pieces are definitely a must to complete the look and keep everything dog hair free. Now if I can only stop him from licking the back window.

Re: Canvasback questions

I think I'm going to order a CanvasBack as soon as CargoLiner.com issues a RMA and a refund for their product that I bought. Does anyone have the side pieces for the CanvasBack? If so, how do they attach?

On my Summit the sides are carpeted too so the same Velcro. BTW, true u will not want to take these out at all as they fray the carpet but the cordura material is highly washable of mud, etc...

Re: Canvasback questions

Thanks for the pics. I liked the fact that the CargoLiner I purchased went all the way up and covered the plastic. I just couldn't get the velcro to stick, so it's going back. I'm going to order the CanvasBack after seeing your pics.

Re: Canvasback questions

Hmmm...
Thinking about making something like that myself.

I have a canvas supplier here in the Twin Cities.

And I own an industrial sewing machine and have the experience.

Had this in my 2014 Cherokee and will be ordering one for 2015 Overland! Loved it!- I have three Golden retrievers (although they have their own vehicle and its not the Overland).

Re: Canvasback questions

Also bought the flap to cover the bumper. My two American bulldogs sometimes miss the jump so this saves a nail mark on the bumper.

Re: Canvasback questions

I've used Canvasback liners in every vehicle I had for years, the last three JGC's My wife's explorer, Highlander and now her Cherokee. We just leave them in. The GSD's are extra furry and without them the fur gets tangled in the carpet and is impossible to remove. With the Canvasback the fur just wipes out. The dirt and mud wipes out pretty easily too. And yes, the side flaps are worth the $20 for that reason. One nice feature is that the side flap on the driver has a slit to access the flashlight and cubby storage.

We have been thinking of getting one; we also have a Golden, has been with us for 6 months, was a rescue we adopted last Thanksgiving. Which of your 3 drives their vehicle

This is Max.

Re: Canvasback questions

I talked with the wife this weekend and she decided on the tan plaid material. So, I ordered the full system with sides and rear flap, totaling $219. I can't believe how much cheaper this is than the other one I bought for $470 or so with shipping.
