Cargo back under drivers seat.

I Looked under the drivers seat to see if my the cargo compartment there would be useful for storage of some items and found a plastic frame clipped in there with a module resting in top of it. The module wasn't connected to the plastic at all but did have 2 plugs connected to it. I removed the plastic frame and ended up with a nice big clean storage bin. I do not have quadilift and was wondering if I really need this plastic piece in there any more?

Re: Cargo back under drivers seat.

I'd be interested to know how you located it and removed that part to have a cargo area? Oh and was it on the 12 or 14?

The part comes out extremely easy. 4 clip tabs that need to be pinched together with a small pair of pliers on all 4 sides and it pops right out. The module isn't even attached so it lifted right off.

Here are pictures of the empty storage compartment. Honestly it's one of the best finds so far. This is on the 2014. I have to go under the passenger seat and look there too.

Big fan of easter eggs. After I saw your post, I started to sniff around the interwebs and came up with this link to our brother/sister site that had 14 or so pages of tips..

Easter Eggs - Page 3 - JeepForum.com

Oh, and on the other forum, a few guys were saying that you basically just pry it up, no need for pinching. Also, how would you pinch them together if they are under the top of the bin?

The clips are actually exposed vertically towards the seat. I thought I would just pop it off but didn't want to break the tab in case I ever put that back (which most likely will be never)

You will probably find the battery under there.
