Re: Change Lane feature

In N.Y. you're lucky if you even see a turn signal atleast twice a day. Most people should be required to wear a helmet that reads brainwaves so the car could do it for them. That probably wouldn't work either since most of them don't think and are in a rush to go nowhere as fast as possible.

Re: Change Lane feature

I just sold a 2008 Denali and the blinker blinked 3 times when tapping the blinker arm up or down. once you get used to it, a very handy feature. my wife's 2011 maxima does the same thing (BTW that thing has the darndest transmission, doesnt change gears, just "slides" through them. hopefully jeep will adopt that in future years. CVT i think is what they call it).

When you push the blinker stalk (within stage 1) and immediately let go, it will still blink three times, to indicate a desire to change lanes.
None of my other vehicles do this - if you push the blinker stalk (within stage 1) and immediately let go, the blinking will immediately stop (I confirmed this morning in my '04 Dakota to make sure I wasn't crazy).

When I normally change lanes, I hold the stalk within stage 1, until I am clearly in my intended lane, and then release the stalk.
With this feature, you no longer have to hold the stalk - just tap.

...maybe I am the only one to find this interesting...

My -09 WH has the same feature...... Something new to US?

Neither my '06 Jeep SRT8 or '03 Dodge Ram had this feature, the Grand Cherokee didn't get it until '07.

Re: Change Lane feature

My 06 GC SRT did not have this feature. This feature first appeared on the GC in 07 or 08. My 08 Laredo has this feature.

We have the CVT in our 07 caliber rt awd its sweet the faster you go, the faster you go can't feel the shifts. Does the jeep compass have this transmission also?

Re: Change Lane feature

Our 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 did the blink 3 times thing, and so did our 2002, 2005 and 2008 Liberty's and our 2008 Wrangler.

The Continuously Variable Tansmissions (CVT) have been around for a while. Leonardo DaVinci invented the concept. They have been used in race cars since the 50's and lawn tractors since the 60's. The Subaru Justy back in the late 80's was the first commercially available car that I know of that had one.

Re: Change Lane feature

Great feature! I remember when I discovered it in my Magnum and I also get ticked every time I drive my wife's 07 Odyssey cause it does not do it.
