Best bet is those end cap filter wrenches you slap a ratchet on. All my strap style wrenches are useless here.
Correct. I have the V8. The looks like the metal part couples as protection for the filter and a drip conduit to direct oil through the window of the plastic road shield when changing the filter. It looked like it was bolted directly to the block.
Im definitely going to get a cap style filter wrench after all that but I made sure I only hand tightened the filter so I don't ever have to struggle like that again.
Despite all the issues I had, it's still REALLY nice to have room in an engine bay to do things. My other car is a 1982 Citation X-11...
one of the first tranversely mounted engines and talk about tight quarters. I dread having to do anything with that engine. Not having to use ramps either is a nice touch. Thanks QL!
