I, for one, would prefer to only have the option of shifting using the UConnect Access app.

Yes but the App to do the shifting won't be released for 10 months after the 2015 is released, require a smart phone and take a couple minutes to load after the vehicle is started

See, that's only because 4G didn't exist in 2013 for the 2014 model year though.

It's this kind of thing that makes me lose hope for mankind.

Stop the bull and unrealistic wish listing
I would just like JEEP to get the current vehicle 100% correct and working 100% of the time for 100% of the vehicles and
Customers
Now that would be a radical concept.

I second the motion.

Re: Changes for 2015?

The new shifter is an absolute deal breaker for me. Once my '11 Summit wears out, I cannot get a new one…my right leg grazes the idiotic, purposeless shifter on the '14's. It belongs on the dash in the form of a dial or on the steering wheel, like MB has been doing since '00 on some of their models.

Then go get a Mercedes Benz... I lime the shifter how it is and where it is. It isnt a new concept for design or location it is just electronic instead of mechanical.

Darn it.

I was hoping for an SRTrail Edition.
They might be a tad touchy about using SRT in any product name...

But I three would like to see a 6.1 or 6.4 available as an option in the Overland or Summit that still has the full OR-II package available.

The 8 speed can easily handle the power...

The only thing different about this shifter is that form has triumphed over function.

Personally I would prefer it if they went to a good old fashioned wheel mounted stalk just like mom had in her station wagon. Works perfectly, is right where you need it, doesn't take up space. Frankly I hope someone gets fired if they stick it in the overhead. Talk about stupidity.
Wheel mounted stalks sorta died out once marketing types discovered people would
pay EXTRA to get their thighs and other body parts battered by an unnecessary console shift lever.

How about a retro return to the push buttons on the left side?
