To me, the parking brake is like the cupholders - I only notice them if they're unusually bad in some way. Am I missing something really big because I haven't used them enough, or is it just about "keeping up with the Joneses"?
The current foot brake S U C K S
I personally hate it. Due to the annoyance factor, I rarely use it. It seldom holds the vehicle weight, the dealer cannot seem to adjust it and it annoys my shin when I drive it.

I also think it is a dangerous item to have right next to my shin, as even a small frontal collision could result in a broken leg.

I have owned several cars with a foot park brake and none have been as obtrusive as the one fitted to my Jeep.

I will delay my purchase of the SRT until I can confirm the EPB will be available. Then I will be one very happy camper.

An electronic parking brake is as much a crime as an electronic shifter coupled with pushbutton start.

Re: Changes for 2015?

Would it stand to reason to expect some of the features on the new Cherokee to be put in the 2015? Lane Departure Warning, Parking Assistant, Stop AND GO on the adaptive cruise instead of just stop?
Maybe even the 9speed transmission? But I'm guessing no on that one.

In the features and changes thread I beleive that stuff was covered. No 9 speed, that is a fwd transmission. Eight speeds are enough.

The 9 speed on the Cherokee is designed for FWD priority. Besides, 8 is more than enough.

As a guy who went from having eight gears on a HEMI to five, I must admit, I miss it dearly.

Re: Changes for 2015?

My first car was a Chevy with a 2 speed PowerSlide, errr PowerGlide, and it got me to school and work every day ... until Uncle Sam knocked on my door and said I was needed in South East Asia.

And I don't believe the torque ratings on the 9 speed are enough for the V8 or diesel.
