No. The Grand Wagoneer will be the only Jeep that will offer the option of a third row seat.

Why is that? Makes no sense, I might as well get a Cherokee instead of a Grand Cherokee otherwise there's no point to getting a vehicle that size

I understand not making it standard, but it should be an option like on the Sorento

Re: Changes for 2015?

You're not considering the Durango? I believe it has a 3rd row, and it should be much more similar to the JGC than the Explorer or Santa Fe are. Just a thought.

Maybe the GC is just too short in the passenger compartment to accomodate a 3rd row, dunno. But the Durango is longer.

Re: Changes for 2015?

We've looked at it, I just don't like the aesthetics of it. Particularly the front of the Durango is "butt" ugly lol. Plus the reliability is suspect. On the other hand, the Grand Cherokee is a thing of beauty

Speak for yourself!

I don't want or need a third row seat option in the Grand Cherokee.

If you want a 3rd row, there are other vehicles from Chrysler, along with other makers that offer it.

Next you'll want built-in baby seats and more cup holders!
NO THANKS!

Re: Changes for 2015?

The Dodge Durango is largely based on the GC and has a third row. The 4x4 systems on it aren't as capable but are likely better than the Kia or Ford...

The GC is such a perfect car, except for that one fatal flaw. I'm just waiting out the announcement and they don't include back seat it's going to really suck because I'm going to have to buy a Santa Fe or an Explorer

This is kind of like asking why they don't offer a four-door Corvette.

A third row makes no sense in a vehicle that is the size of a Grand Cherokee. Jeep tried it with the Commander (I own one) and the rear seat is not really usable for anyone over 12 years old.

Keep in mind that Jeeps carry more around than a Kia that dictate packaging -- transfer cases, full size spare tires, bigger fuel tanks, DEF tanks.

Actually GM did make a 4 dr Vette the CTS V.

Check out the rear crumble/crush zones in CUVs and SUVs? Do you really want your kids in the third roll seat? Best of all them is the Suburban where the third row is not as bad as the others.

No 3 rd row. If you need that much seating get a van or a minivan or leave the spawn or grandparents at home locked in a closet. Or get an old school bus and go Partridge Family!

Re: Changes for 2015?

Wheel base 2014 Durango 119.8" 2014 WK2 114.8"
Overall length 2014 Durango 201.2 and 2014 WK2 189.8"

I am guessing the new Grand Wagonner with its scrumptious vinyl woodgrain on the sides will be based on the Durango platform and the overall length may get longer. I cant decide if I want a nice walnut vinyl(think Rapide) on mine or a natural oil rock maple( think bowling alley) for the vinyl woodgrain. Decisions, Decisions!!!

Hey Milous will fake vinyl woodgrain be option on the Wagoneer???? Please, please, please!!!!

Re: Changes for 2015?

Well, I actually only have 2 kids. The reason I need the third row is that we have several road trips during the year with family and when we're visiting with the sister in law or grandparents, whatever it's nice to take only one car instead of taking two cars, finding two parking spots, having to call between cars, etc... With the the third row everyone just packs in to get to the restaurant or museum or whatever and it's a lot more convenient. The other 350 days of the year the back row seats are folded down

Re: Changes for 2015?

So come on get happy and get an old school bus and go Partridge Family for your vacation to see family. Or rent. I am surprised that the ambulance chasing scum havent gone all class action on 3rd row seats and rear end collisions.

My sis and bro are volunteer firefighters and they have seen some pretty nasty leg injuries from kids and adults in 3rd seats in rear enders. Injuries have included amputations below the knee on site to get two adults out of the rear seat on a 2014 MDX. Yep Thanksgivings and family get togethers spawn interesting conversations in my family. Brother in law is a battalion chief at one DC areas airports and SIL is a vet. I almost curled up into fetal position when she described neutering a poor dog.

You could always rent a minivan or Tahoe.
