Re: Changes for 2015?

I am also a +1 for the flipper glass as I would use it 10x more than the liftgate.
It is very convenient to quickly access the rear, but I guess they have a reason for removing it. I have had no issues with mine.

Re: Changes for 2015?

Hope for the MY2015 they can fix the fit and finish under the glove box where the passenger leg area is (cardboard and large panel gaps are currently there) anybody experience this in MY2014?

Milous - any idea when we might start seeing info from Jeep on the 2015 changes? I'm done waiting for a special edition that fits my needs (wishes). Just need to decide to go grab a 2014 or if 2015 will offer anything worth waiting for.

This is exactly what I'm waiting for. Since I've waited this long, I can wait a little bit more for the 2015s to either drive down the 2014s price or any new features such as new interior/exterior colors on the 2015s to entice me towards it. Ready to pull the trigger any time now.

Yes....novelis. I work at the Kentucky facility and we were told last night to expect some automotive work in the next 3-5 years also. Oswego will produce aluminum for the f150.

You must command the calipers to open, then replace the pads, then enter the pad thickness into the electronic park brake module, then command the calipers to close and adapt. What was a 15 minute procedure, is now a long process. So, on top of the expensive calipers with built-in motors and sensors, you also have a "Park Brake Control Module", a control lever/switch, more harnesses, etc. Yes, those parts do fail and they are not cheap. Me, I like the handle between the seats for the parking (or "emergency") brake. It's simple, works great and is sometimes even fun.
You are correct about the disadvantages. Another problem is failure of the car electronics, special procedures are required to release the parking brake. However, embraces have two advantages, they take very little space around the console or driver footwell and they can be automatically applied when the engine shuts off or even when the car stops. Given how many drivers don't bother to use their manual parking brake, this is a significant advantage.

Re: Changes for 2015?

I haven't found a lot of use for parking brakes since rear disc brakes became the norm. I have yet to see a vehicle with rear discs where the parking brake would actually hold it. Mine have been pretty good at being left on while driving around too!

Only time I ever use it is when launching a boat. It does seem to hold it in both my ram and the jeep. I wouldn't rely solely on it but I figured it couldnt hurt. Unless of course it sticks...

You should check out the thread on this forum about a 2014 that rolled out of someone's drive way. It was left in park without the parking brake applied.

Re: Changes for 2015?

Can we please get a list of the final changes we can expect in the MY15 ?
We are now 3 month out from them being released and there is still no full list of changes.
