Re: Changes for 2015?

since as mentioned above, the transmission shifter is nothing more than a switch these days...I vote they make the next transmission selector look like a manual gear box. Upper left for park, Straight back from there for regular drive. In between the two is neutral and push down from neutral and over to the hard upper left for reverse. while in drive, push over to the right for auto sport mode. from auto sport mode, push forward for electronic downshift and back for electronic up-shift. we can get rid of the stupid paddles and feel like men again! also, they should use the porsche PDK system ha!

Well, personally for the 2015s I hope they de-tune all the engines at least 50hp and the SRT version can barely keep up with the standard hemi. The interior should see the comeback of vinyl, with bright shades of pink, green, and electric blue. Carpet should be de-contented and shifting should be accomplished with a single hole pull tab in the column. The only exterior color should be "muddy cow pasture" and the Uconnect system should simply eject itself from the vehicle while shouting a firm "No!" upon first touch.

As I just got a 2014, of course

Re: Changes for 2015?

The knob isn't that bad, especially if they can add storage space like they did in the Ram. I am really only considering a Ram or JGC, and have driven both. Before driving the Ram I thought I would hate the knob, but once I was on my way, I didn't even think about it. It would take a little getting used to if you drove one every day, but I don't think that would take long. I like the paddles on the JGC and wish the Ram had them instead of the stupid buttons on the steering wheel, my only real complaint about the truck.

Please no shift knobs on the steering column, that looks too much like a mini van/town and country.

I would love to have the option of paint to customers specification. We love our new GC but so many of the colors they offer look like what you find in rental car fleets.
While watching a show on high end car factories I noticed that Porsche uses robots to paint their 911's yet they offer the ability for the customer to specify a custom color.
I don't need a diesel but would be willing to spend a similar amount to be able to choose the exact color I want.

As long as you are willing to pay, you can bring it to a good paint shop after you take delivery. They will be happy to make you happy ... for a price.

True, but even if it cost the same to have it done by the factory, the factory paint job would simply be better since they paint the body in it's most raw form compared to what a shop has to do to get the same quality and coverage.

Now, that said, won't the factories custom paint for a fleet order of some size? All of the yellow taxis have to come from somewhere!

I agree . There is a huge difference between a body shop painting an assembled car and a factory paint job on a body shell

That's a little different than mixing/buying a few quarts of paint in a custom color. I'm sure it could be done, but there is a reason these are called "mass produced" as opposed to custom.

It is possible that someday factories will be equipped to do this. I'm holding out for a system where you turn a dial on the dash and a signal is sent through the body that changes the color on demand.

Re: Changes for 2015?

How about heated and cooled cup-holders? AFAIK, they are already available on other Chrysler-models (i.e. 300)..

Re: Changes for 2015?

To be honest, jI wouldn't mind seeing a better selection of colors. Have some brighter, more vibrant choices. The 2014's were a little drab for me. The only one's I liked were the Deep Cherry Red and Maximum Steel Blue. Whatever happened to the pacific Blue?
