My Overland has the "Acoustic Laminated Front Door Glass" as well. The Acoustic Laminated Windshield should definitely help with noise cancellation.

Do you think the windshield and the noise cancellation will be that much of a difference? I like a quiet cabin but not too quiet though....

I bet there is a pretty noticeable difference, otherwise they probably would not add these features, but I guess we will have to try it out to know for sure. For me, it would be worth waiting a few months to get these features.

Opppppssss. Picking up the new 2014 in a week or so. LOL Actually, if the windshield and noise thing is all the difference from the 2014 to the 2015 for the Summit, not really worth waiting for in my view since there will inevitably be a 2015 price hike of $1K or more too..... The Summit is a pretty quiet vehicle already in my opinion. Before I ordered the 2014 I did look to see what was the changes for 2015 (at least what Milous had posted on the other site) and seemed like the 2014 Summit changes were going forward with nothing new really for 2015, at least for the Summit (or at least nothing that anyone would notice).

Re: Changes for 2015?

I wouldn't be surprised if the '15 is quieter. That said, even my '14 Overland is one of the quietest SUVs I've ever owned.

I see in your sig you are getting a white 2014 congrats! If I didn't get the SRT I would have a white Summit in my garage right now I love the Summits. Believe it or not sometimes I miss my 2012. That thing rode like a dream I LOVED that truck.

One of the bigger concerns for me was something brought up in another thread, and that is the rapid pace of change in vehicle electronic systems and user interface. For example, while the 2015 will keep the 8.4an Uconnect, what new features and functions won't be available on the 2014 as well.

Also features like adaptive cruise control with stop and auto Park assist mode (2014.5 features) come to mind. So that's why I am so interested to see what is next for 2015.

Agreed. The '15 will be quieter, but the '14 is pretty quiet itself, so I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it.

.

Or...you could likely replace your current windshield with the 2015 Summit one. Would likely work. Likely expensive too
