Re: Changes for 2015?

Hmm, that certainly makes me wonder how a "major update" on the already updated Grand Cherokee in 2015 would look like.

Considering that this is not far away, there must be something in the pipeline that Milous knows about...

And no, I'm not going to wait 'til 2015 - even if this "major update" runs on water .

Re: Changes for 2015?

Just keep in mind, something introduced in Q3 of 2015 is a 2016 model year vehicle.....

Re: Changes for 2015?

Oh and by the way, in an earlier post (perhaps on another thread) about two weeks ago I did say the Patriot and Compass were going away with one model replacing them....and they are going away soon. They got a 2015 and maybe a 2016 left before gone. No major updates of any kind I would suspect.

Sure - so this "major update" - if I get this right - is just about 15 months away.

This is quite a change in schedule/strategy because if I recall correctly, the all-new GC was planned for MY17 - and even insiders like Milous were referring to that MY not too long ago.

Oh, wait, now I get it: They are doing this to bring back the flipper-glass..

Re: Changes for 2015?

^^^^^^^

By itself, FLIPPER GLASS, would be, by definition, a major update.

Perhaps flipper glass will be the only difference between the 2016 and the all new 2017 model. Works for me!

Actually it's closer to 19-20 months away as 2015 will be another extended model year. This would make it about three calendar years since the 2014 model year refresh intro.

That's interesting, Milous.

So it seems that there will be no MY16 then because in 20 months, it will be early 2016 already which would allow Jeep to label the "major update" as MY17 - just like they did when they introduced the MY14 early in 2013.

This, however, would mean that the information published by Fox can't be accurate because they are claiming the major update for 2015 (some reports are saying Q3 of 2015).

It would really be interesting to know what happens when because I would have to plan my lease accordingly. Based on what I know today, a 3-year lease starting in October would expire around the time the all-new model launches in 2017. However, I certainly want to avoid the first MY.

Guess I will have to lease the next two Jeeps for three years and trade them in after two. That will cost me some additional $$ but should get me into the all-new model in 2018 - during its second MY.
