Re: Changes for 2015?

Just give me the option to paint my Limited in Deep Auburn, and I'm a happy customer.

OK, and maybe the Grand Canyon Jeep Brown interior... but that's probably asking too much

The whole paint issue is just a question of painting equipment setup execution for the factory.

Some European companies will charge you 2 to 3 grand for some "special colors" since they need to setup the painting robots to handle a "one off" paint.

The true cost to the manufacturer after a fast set up and changeover procedure is in place is probably less the $100 as the paint costs them the same anyway.
However is you don't have a quick changeover procedure in place it makes it to costly in lost production time for the manufacturer.

That's why they're going with a different location. I probably shouldn't say anything yet, as it's a little early to reveal some of the 2015 features, but the plan is to relocate the shifter to the overhead console - to free up the constant requests for more room in the center console.

The engineers feel that most customers are now using the paddle shifters, and with reverse being used only for 1.6% of shifts, that it would not be too inconvenient for drivers to reach up to shift into reverse, or to do the same when parking.

A small lever anywhere on the dash, or even a P,D,N,R 4 button system anywhere, including the steering wheel will take no space and will be functional.

They can also get rid of that almost wool coat looking material that's in the 2014 wheel wells, that's a bit cumbersome to clean especially with leaves and other debris in the fall and winter.

That felt is a present from the joint Daimler Chrysler development cycle, and it blocks noise rather well.

Love it, but that is where the ejection seat lever is now.

I didn't know I would have to take the wheel wells to the dry cleaners as part of the maintenance.
