Re: Check your lug nuts!
A mod should go through the earlier posts in this thread and edit them so people don't just read the first page and torque to 95 instead of 110.
(Probably not a huge deal, but err on the side of caution!)
When I was 17 or 18, my stepdad and I had been rebuilding various parts of my first car (72 super beetle). He had just done something which required the wheels off, then took it for a test drive. A couple miles from home, the left front came flying off. Fortunately it was at a somewhat low speed, and the tire/wheel didn't hit anything or anybody.
He furiously blamed me when he got home, but I knew I had not touched the wheels that day. He later figured out it was his own mistake. He had a habit of hand tightening all the lug nuts on multiple wheels before going back around to torque them. He had somehow forgotten to come back to the whole left side.
