As a standalone mod any CAI will have minimal gains that will not translate into better performance. I usually would be combined with ECU tuning to account for the added air. In it's current state the 5.7 Hemi, while having potential for more, is restricted by the programming. I suspect this is done to enhance the fuel economy.
I have gone through the modification process on several past vehicles. Spending $$$ on exhaust systems, CAI, throttle-bodies, short-shift kits, etc all under the cause of better performance. While the overall package gave me that, in the end it was better to pay for the next model up or invest the money.
Aside from considering a winter tire/rim setup, I will be keeping my Overland stock. I might consider upgrading to the SRT8 at the mid-cycle refresh.
