Chose 2011 v6 Ltd over 2014 v6 Laredo!

Well, after arriving from UK last week I have been busy test driving some Jeeps.

First stop was Jack at Faricy Boys in Co Springs. Really great guy and offered the $1750 under invoice with no prompting.

It was obvious straight away that the V6 is plenty powerful for me and the 8 speed box is a beauty no doubt (I am coming from a Mercedes 7G box which is great).

But do you know there is something about the style of the 14 just didn't grab me. It's a fine car and I would have no qualms about owning one but walking round the lot I kept thinking I really prefer the look of the 13. Somehow more "Jeep" like to me. Bear in mind I am from England :-) !

Also my budget would only run to a Laredo maybe with a 18"wheel and all weather package and I am afraid I could not live with the cloth seats.

So went away to think about it and look round some dealers in Denver.

Really wanted to see what the 5 speed box was like and do you know I was pleasantly surprised. Ok it has its limitations but for what I want which is an about town leisure vehicle with occasional trips to the mountains it fits the bill perfectly.

Anyway to cut a long story short I fell in love with a white 2011 Ltd with 26k miles on the clock. It's pretty much fully loaded. Cream nappa leather interior. 20" Alloys, panorama sun roof and a load of other stuff which weren't essentials to me but are very nice to have.

Never thought I would buy a white car or have a cream interior but to be honest for me it just works. Picking it up on Friday.

So thanks to all for your incredibly helpful and interesting views which have informed and helped my decision massively.

Good luck to all the new and future 2014 owners. It's a fine vehicle but for me and my budget I am very happy with my choice.

Oh should say that Matt and Daniel at Go Chrysler Jeep in Denver were v helpful and extremely friendly to deal with.

The price I negotiated is well below Edmunds so very pleased.

Can't wait to actually be a Jeep driver after all these months of lurking on here! Will report on further impressions, mpg etc in due course.

Thanks again and happy driving!

Congrats on the Jeep. No matter what year Jeep you buy, you still got a Jeep. Have fun with it!

Congrats! There are some great values out there for 2011 to 2013s with everybody clamoring over the 2014's. I went from 2012 Laredo E to a 2013 Laredo X -- both V6 and despite all the posts you read I am very happy with it.

Congrats and you know what, great choice. Can't force yourself into something your budget won't allow you. The 11-13s are the very model years that got me into looking at JGCs again and make it my next car/1st Truck/JEEP!

I agree with Riot. I really liked the 11-13 models and almost bought a 2012 back in Dec '12, but the wife put a stop to that. I was really hooked on them, then it faded and now is back.. Still a good choice.

Thanks guys. I also drove a couple of 2011/ 12 Laredos. One with saddle interior which I didn't take to at all. Again fine motors but the Limited really did feel a cut above. So rather spend my money on a pre owned bit of luxury than a new basic. My budget is what I got for the sale of my Merc coupe in UK which was the equivalent of about $37k. Made that with a bit to spare including taxes , fees etc. so v happy.
This one has the Lux II package and 20" alloys so lovely heated and cooled seats and power lift gate etc. Roll on Friday!

Re: Chose 2011 v6 Ltd over 2014 v6 Laredo!

Congrats on your new Jeep from an extremely happy 2011 owner. The new design is what caught my eye and brought me back to Jeep after several years away from the brand. Enjoy!

Congrats! Stone white is beautiful! As I would not buy it the Black/ Light Frost beige interior is one of the nicest looking "light" interiors I have seen! Good luck on your purchase!!!!

Granite Crystal Metallic. May not have the Jeep, but I'll still drop in and keep up with the news.
