You can't use someone else's control number. The number is assigned to you, you provide your name, birthdate, and you even have to disclose any potential trades.

You are going to need to join tread lightly to get one. You have to wait 30 days I believe, but you don't need it until delivery so if you get on it, you'll be fine.

Edit: you already joined, missed that part. You're gonna have to wait.

Went a dealer today about an hour from my house and ended up just having to put a deposit down on one of the '14 Limited's. Dealer happens to be one that is offering a group purchase and needs a "control number". I had no idea what this was or that it was needed as I just joined this site. At any rate, I put a deposit down and only have a certain amount of time to present the control # to get the car. If I don't get it then the deposit will go towards an order, which I don't want to think about bc that could take weeks and weeks.....and weeks. Which is the same boat I would have been in anyway so I figured it didn't hurt to try this route.

Does anyone have a Tread Lightly or other code that I could use? In return I would give you mine as soon as I get it. Just a loan. I could give you my personal contact info, as well as, the dealer info (if needed) and a copy of my order email from Tread Lightly showing the code is coming. Hell, if you have a code and aren't going to use it and just want to get your money back then I'll even pay you for it.

So, if you're waiting for the LUX II group, CDR, base Laredo, etc. and have a code NOW....PLEASE let me borrow it. PLEASE.

Thanks for taking the time to read and...for the sake of the OP, let's keep bashing/hating at a minimum on this great Friday night! Cheers!
I signed up last Thursday for Tread Lightly and received all the paperwork on Monday to get a control number that same night. I gave the control number to the dealer the next day and we are schedule to pick up the Jeep tomorrow... So I guess it worked. However, If I remember correctly, they only mail on Fridays so that should be your only delay from my experience.

That's encouraging. What exactly did you receive in your packet from TL: a control number or company code to get a control number? The dealer said he had never heard of the 30 day wait period I read about this morning and said to just bring the letter. Didn't know you get it so soon.

Maybe ill be alright but I'd still be happy to throw my name on someone else's letter!! Thanks for input guys.

The packet contained their magazine, a sticker, membership letter, and on the back of the membership letter, was the instructions on how to get the control number from Chrysler. I'm not at home to check so I don't remember what my wife did to get the control number.
