Exclamation Chrysler recalls over 4,400 Grand Cherokee (2014) SUVs to fix headlights

Chrysler recalls over 4,400 Grand Cherokee SUVs to fix headlights | Reuters

(Reuters) - Chrysler Group LLC, the U.S. automaker majority controlled by Fiat SpA, is recalling 4,458 Jeep Grand Cherokee sport-utility vehicles to fix an electrical problem that is turning off the headlights.

The action covers 2014 Grand Cherokee SUVs equipped with premium headlamps and built between Jan. 14 and March 20, according to a post published on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website on Tuesday.

"An investigation discovered the software that controls lamp function was turning them off," Chrysler said in a statement.

Chrysler said it was unaware of any consumer complaints, injuries or accidents associated with the problem.

The recall involves 4,242 vehicles in the United States and 216 in Canada.

I guess I'm one of them, any additional information to list?

Having taken delivery on 23 April, I am probably safe, but it would be nice to have the VIN range associated with this recall.

The Summit lights have the washers built in and also 'look around corners'. The recall might be limited to those. I'm not saying it is so, just a possibility.

VIN numbers do not come off the line in sequence. Check your build date.

Wow!!...,

last night I saw a 2014 Limited on the highway.

The new LEDs look fantastic at night. The vehicle really stands out.

Has to be in the top 3 best looking light designs on the road.

Really Chrysler?

Software issues were turning off the headlights on customer cars, and nobody complained?
